Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about using WEL broadcast messaging services.

Registration is free. Go to the WEL Home Page and click Free Registration. Fill in your details (required fields are highlighted) and submit. You will receive your username and password by email and can start broadcasting immediately.

Go to Broadcast Messaging › Manage Lists. From there you can add or remove recipients and edit contact details for any entry.

Go to Broadcast Messaging › Manage Lists and give your new list a name. Import your data as a CSV or TXT file with at minimum these columns:

  • Reference — a label for the recipient (e.g. company name)
  • Recipient — the recipient’s full name
  • Contact Address — fax number, email, mobile or phone including area code

Login issues are usually caused by cookies or cached data. Try these steps:

  1. Enable cookies — WEL requires cookies for session management. Ensure cookies are allowed for this site in your browser settings.
  2. Clear your browser cache — press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac), clear cached files and cookies, then reopen the browser and try again.
  3. Try a private / incognito window — this bypasses cached data and helps isolate browser-related issues.
  4. Forgotten password? — use the Forgot Password link on the login page.

If still unable to log in, contact WEL on 1300 739 939.

  1. Go to Broadcast History from the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the report link for the job you want.
  3. To receive reports automatically by email, go to Change Registration Details and add email addresses to the report field (comma-separated).

WEL can issue a single invoice for multiple users in the same company, as accounts are linked at the company level. Alternatively, use the same email address across all user IDs to consolidate invoices into one inbox.

Select Media from the left-hand menu in your account. Scroll to the bottom of the service summary to find a link showing all WEL Media recipients.

Test faxes can occasionally take up to five minutes. If yours has not arrived:

  • Check the fax machine is on and set to fax mode (not voice-only)
  • Check paper is loaded and no error is shown on the machine
  • If still missing after five minutes, contact WEL support on 1300 739 939 with your job number, user ID, number of pages, document title and contact number

A broadcast can only be cancelled before delivery has started. If you sent it for immediate delivery, messages are typically dispatched within seconds and cannot be recalled. For scheduled broadcasts, see Cancel a Job.

WEL uses multiple sources including commercial list providers. Our own team also adds, verifies and updates contacts on request from customers or members of the media.

Click the Forgot your User ID or Password? link on the login page and follow the prompts.

Yes. Email, SMS and text-to-speech messages all support merge fields using %%ColumnName%% placeholders, which are replaced automatically at send time.

For fax merge, contact WEL support on 1300 739 939.

Go to Manage Opt-outs in the left-hand menu. You can add fax, email, mobile or voice numbers to your opt-out list. Future broadcasts will automatically skip any number on this list.

See the WEL Privacy Policy on our website.

  • Use black and white only — colour increases transmission time significantly
  • Reduce images, especially photographs
  • Invert logos so they are white on dark, reducing ink coverage per page
  • Use generous white space — the more white space, the faster the fax transmits

Reply Method (2-way SMS)
Mark your SMS as 2-way. Include a phrase like “Reply STOP to opt out”. When the keyword is detected, the number is automatically added to your opt-out list.

Embedded Opt-Out Method (1-way or 2-way)
Include a link to welcorp.com/optout/ and %%ID%% in your message. This code is replaced at send time with a unique recipient identifier.
Example: Today only — 10% off. To opt out, visit welcorp.com/optout/ and enter %%ID%%.

See the SMS Wizard for full details.
