Tips for Faster Fax Transmission
All fax documents are converted to greyscale automatically, so colour in your source file is not transmitted directly. However, images — even in greyscale — encode as a dense grid of dots and take significantly longer to transmit than text or white space.
- Minimise images, especially photographs and complex graphics
- Reduce dark areas — dark regions require more data than light ones; consider inverting logos to white-on-dark rather than dark-on-white
- Leave generous white space — blank areas transmit almost instantly and have the single biggest impact on speed
- Prefer clean text layouts over image-heavy designs for the fastest delivery
